For this assignment, I have to do a 2-minute-long video introduction about myself. I have never done something like this before so it’s quite a challenge. The thing that I find it’s difficult the most is talking to myself in front of the camera. But during the time I was filming myself, I learned that it’s not an easy task to do because I need to think about the thing I going to talk about in the video, editing and how I manage to overcome the problem. At the beginning of the assignment, I thought it would be an easy task to do but it wasn’t, however, I try to practice myself in front of the mirror multiple time to get used to it. I believe this is a fun experience for everyone who enjoys studying in Media or Digital Media because you can learn a lot of thing such as speaking in front of a camera, it’s quite challenging because I have never done such like that before so it takes a bit of time to practise to do that and the thing I have to think about is what I should have talked about in the video. From my perspective, I think social media is a platform that where you allow to create the image of yourself in the way you want to be expressing yourself to the public audience. With the help of social media, we able to connect with others around us or even across the country to share our ideas thought or a piece of useful information. There is a lot of things I have learned during filming my video that I need to focus on the quality of video, sound and the different angles of camera effect to create interesting content to my video. Also, I did some effect and music to video to make it more interesting for people to watch. So, in this video, I decided to talk a bit about myself, which it’s important of information about my identity on how I wanted to be represented on social media. The lesson that I have learned from this assignment that I need to improve more on the planning and the engagement with the audience. As I could see from my video, I did not look at the camera much which show the audience that I’m not confident in myself enough to be able to engage with the audience. Therefore, when people watching my video, they would feel bored. Also, I think that I would have done better in my video if I have been more thoughtful about the planning before I start to film my video which would have been more interesting. But I did learn a lot during this process and I hope that I would able to be more self-confident and focus on the planning part more than I would be able to create a better version of a video that I have done. The thing that I am proud of myself that I was able to overcome the fear of speaking in front of the camera and the process of editing it also takes a bit of time for me to manage it.
